Record Label Question - When a studio plays my song how do I get ...?

How do I get paid ...

What say I'm in Florida and a guy in Africa in his radio station plays my songs.

    What??

Does he take out $5 out his wallet and puts it in his envelope and mail it to me using my address off my album and says hey this is YOUR $5 thax for letting me play YOUR track??

Or if that's not how it works, then HOW??

No, How it works is simple, first you as the artist, get paid under Mechical Rights, as the writer of the songs you get performance rights, via two methods, from the Publisher and from the Perfoming rights company (ie BMI, ASCAP or SESAC) the Publisher is the record company you signed with and also if your smart it could be you so you may be a co-Publisher, under the publisher the artist gets money per each radio play and it will be called Mechanical Payments, and the writer gets the performance payments, then the writer only gets from (BMI, ASCAP or SESAC) performance payments again - writer gets more... artist sees more only if record sells then the record company gives money for record sales. and the money is about .6 cents per song played on the radio, 10 cents on TV, and 12 cents if Live on TV, but re-check the numbers with (BMI, ASCAP or SESAC) they may have gone up a penny or more. And hope that (BMI,ASCAP, or SESAC) was monitoring the radio, because if the song is not a hit, then they are not going to pay close attention to your song and see if it played in one radio station in Africa for .6 cent. so that they can make sure you get your 3 cents from them. but don't be discouraged this is how it works, so write that hits song, hey ya never know !!!!

This collection uses a brand new method of printing leather, which is called "Digital Engraving." The process involves having the colors applied onto raw, un-tanned leather hides, so the colors are part of the tanning of the leather. All of the colors, including the background color, are applied all at one time. Since the colors are part of the tanning process, they become part of the leather itself and are not just printed on the surface. This makes it impossible for the colors to scratch off or fade, and are as permanent as if they were the standard black or brown. Design: Constantin Boym. Developed by Acme Studio. Studio Craft

    Studio Craft

    $68.51

Studio craft though it takes many forms, can be thought of in general as the tendency to practice craft methodology in an environment similar if not equivalent to an artists studio. Viewed in comparison to the practice of traditional craft which tends to generate craft objects out of necessity or for ceremonial use Studio Craft represents a contemporary shift from traditional craft by producing craft objects at the whim of the maker or intended owner and which tend to be at best only desirable for use and sometimes outright in opposition to it. Because studio craft dissents from objects of pure necessity studio craft inspires significant comparisons to works of studio art which also tend to be made specifically to stimulate. It is often argued by contemporary craftspeople that because of studio crafts diminished reliance on objects of necessity the studio craft object becomes more viable for the kind of aesthetic critical theory which occurs in fine art theory. Would you recommend the full color correction on Bayphoto.com?

Or would it be better to save the money and take the chance?

The cost difference can be extreme-----$3.50 (full color correction) vs. $1.99 (none) for 8 wallets
...this is for the printing of senior photos-I don't want to charge my clients a ton of money for their prints...I would like to be the economically-smart choice :)

    Any recommendations?

Since you asked, you haven't calibrated your system to display photos that will print without lab color correction. You can send the lab a photo to be printed without correction and use this method http://www.digicamguides.com/print/monitor-calibration.html to make corrections for that printer. Or, just pay the lab to do it.
