Ideas for teaching on a budget?
I'm an elementary ed major and have to come up with a bunch of ideas for teaching on a budget. in other words, what are some ways to gather materials without putting a hole in your wallet? so far i have:
look for sales at craft stores to buy feathers, buttons, ribbon, glue, and any other art supplies
shop at yard sales and thrift stores for used books, old paintings, and dress up clothes.
any other ideas???
There are lots of things to download; check out the homeschooling sites (no, really!).
Ask merchants to donate; printers can give you paper that they don't use. Check out home improvement stores for -- oh, i don't know -- odd things like tiles for counters, hardware ditto, sales on plants, etc. ets.
Also check out Yahoo! groups for education sites. I'm in Montessori Ed & there's a TON of resources available for classroom use. Teachers love to share.

Why did the vice principal of my school say this to me?
I was in sixth grade at Sinnott Elementary School in milpitas ca.
I just finished my counseling with the school physcologist and I saw someones cash in their wallet and it was amount of 93 dollars in cash and I was about to take it but then the school physcologist said please don't. then after I got dropped off to my classroom then the next thing I knew the vice principal Mr.Baxter called me to his office. I went to his office and in his office the school resourse officer a cop and him were standing in there. He told me "if you take any cash again I'll have you arrested for theft do you understand me" and the cop was standing there with his arms folded looking at me. why did the vice principal tell me then and why was the cop with him while he called me in his office?
cause you sound like a little turd who will be very familiar with the cops in the future
