Can a apache helicopter fire in the ground and turn like a tank?
A tank turns by braking on one side while the other track is still moving. A helicopter turns by increasing or decreasing the rpm of the tail rotor. So they don't turn the same way. Apache copters can fire into the ground but that's a waste of ammo.

How can I become an Apache Helicopter gunship operator?
I'm interested in becoming an Apache crew member, mainly gunner. I'm not sure how to become one since I don't see it as a career or job in the US Army. Thank you for your time.
You would have to apply to WOCC and then Flight School. Even then, there is no guarantee that you would fly Apaches. Talk to a recruiter and tell him you want to be an aviator.

I haven't seen or heard this before.
Stuff like this is incredibly thought provoking, and contrasts markedly with the couple of articles that you posted about the American apache helicopter crew in Baghdad.
A common thread through both attitudes, however, is that war serves no useful purpose, and that it is the common people that suffer, while the so-called leaders remain untouched and unaffected.
