What is the best highend watch?
I used to have a Omega watch, but after 2 and a half years, water started to get into the watch, and now Omega wants to charge $400 just to fix, maybe more if it needs new parts. Now Im thinking about just simply buying a new watch instead. What is the best high-end watch to get? Rolex? I thought Omega was supposed to be better than Rolex, so Im not sure. What are the quality high-end brands, preferably with a life time warranty?
Im looking for a watch around 3-4000 range. Nixon looks ok, not real high end,but mid range

Which is superior in quality, 35mm film or full frame digital?
With "highend" sensors and "numerous" megapixels has digital really cought up film photography?
Resolution is one thing (and in actual fact the resolution race may be over, as pixels get smaller there are more problems with aperture limited diffraction) but colour depth and contrast depth are quite another.
Film doesn't suffer from moire pattern or aliasing (digital slrs all have quite severe anti aliasing filters, thus the use of post sharpening in photoshop)
Digital cameras use a bayer type sampling pattern, so there is some guesswork involved to fill in blanks. Film has seperate RGB layers at every area of the emulsion, scanned properly there is far more colour information in decent film.
The contrast depth of film is higher, in that for any exposure film will usually have at least a stop more worth of detail in shadows and highlights.
Full frame cameras can suffer from fall off at the corner of the sensor if the light is hitting the sensor well off the perpendicular, you can get vignetting and colour fringing, such abborations are less pronounced with film, which is more receptive to light from an angled direction (wide lenses, small apertures)
If I scan a correctly exposed and focused frame of a fine grained film like fuji velvia 50 then the resolution of the film exceeds that of my 5400dpi film scanner (40MP)
But for all that, digital is now excellent, absolutley brilliant, fast to use, no processing, can shoot more than 36 frames in a go etc, instant playback and the ability to email or wire images the other side of the world in seconds etc.
Film IS the higher quality medium in the right hands, but the margins are so little that for all but the most dedicated landscaper or for scientific purposes (infra red, forensics) digital IS now good enough.
So good that National Geographic do actually accept digital submissions now.
Both formats have their 'best' applications, I don't regard it as a battle of one over the other. I still buy and use film, but I also shoot on a DSLR as well.
