Mud flap installation?
The rear wheels of my 1990 Ford Bronco II aren't really in a wheel well. What I mean is if you look where you would hang mud flaps, you can see the leaf springs and all that. There Isn't a 90 degree angle to hang them off of. Is there a way around this?
Usually. they are just attached to the lip of the wheel opening by drilling a few holes and fastening them with sheet metal screws.
If you don't want to drill holes in the body of your truck, you can make a bracket out of a short length of angle iron or small box tubing (angle iron would be easier) that you can bolt or weld to the frame. If you want to bolt it on, you will still have to drill holes in the frame of the truck. You can then attach the mud flaps to the bracket. If you don't have access to a welder, any muffler shop or RV repair shop can weld them on for you. That's how they are attached to semi trailers. If you do it this way, be sure to get a set that is straight across the top, not contoured to follow the wheelwell opening, so that you can bolt them to the brackets.
