Why do polite black people sometimes call me boss?
the only people to have called me boss were black people. It was only used on respectful occasions.
Ironically, my landlord called me "Boss" all the time! My Landlord! I am only 25 years old and I drive a drity, run-down car. I wear dirty clothes. I paid $2 for my shoes. My cell phone costed $10. Get my drift? lol. I'm no boss.
Where does this phenomenon come from?
This means nothing, an old Irish guy where I live calls me boss and I call him chief and it has been that way for years.
Generally speaking on all occasions it is just meant as a friendly greeting, to show you respect someone.
Go to any good clothes shop for instance and 9/10 you will be called "sir"
