i need help putting together my make up portfolio?
what should it look like? should i use a scrapbook and paste the pictures on there? binder? photo album?
You can buy a Black Portfolio Book for your Photos. They have them at a photo shop, and not a walmart shops. You should get black so you photo Stand out more and better. sorry don't have a website just yahoo or google Portfolio Books or Photo Shop's

How many images should I have in a photographic portfolio?
...for job interviews and art school applications?
Also should I display them in an A3 or A2 binder?
For art school they will advertise how many images they would like to see. Usually its about 10 to 12 photographs.
If your putting together a folio is a good idea to have a variety of subject matter, they like too that you can respond to briefs. Different lighting techniques, some portrait, some still life, landscapes, architecture. Also both colour and black and white images.
Despite the different subjects the images should pull together and your personality and style should come through the folio.
* A2 size is good.
* Keep the images the about the same size.
* Don't print the image edge to edge on the photo paper, keep a white border (it frames the photo nicely and looks neat).
* If sticking the photos down use acid free photo dots, never glue
When choosing a display folio you will have to go to a specialty store and see what they have in stock. Classic black always works, you don't want it to distract from your work.
I'm not sure where about you are but here is a link to a store (its international) that specializes in archival folio products. They have neat and simple photo boxes that work well too. Just to give you an idea.
