Are Leather Trousers/Pants Gay?
Okay, well, I'm a 15 year old vocalist in a rock band, Jim Morrison is very much my inspiration, and people often tell me I look like him; so, I was thinking, rather than fall into the emo, goth or chav fashion labels, why not base my look more so on his? Anyway, I've got the aviator glasses, the long hair, right boots and as I was just about to purchase a pair of leather trousers from ebay, I see Eddie Izzard wearing them on his stand-up. So now, I'm a little hesitant about buying them... are leather pants gay? I have nothing wrong with gays, but the guys at my school are immature f**ks - if I go strolling down the streets of London dressed like a transvestite, it's going to be handing meat to the hounds...

There is nothing inherently gay about leather pants. [Read that again]
Leather pants are this: pants made of leather. What a revelation! Just like a jacket made of leather, shoes, a hat, a couch, cat seats, gloves, whatever. Just as there is nothing inherently gay about them, nor is there anything inherently "drug dealer", "neo nazi", "pimp" or "rock star" about them either. Those notions are all stereotypes. And really, aren't we all supposed to be beyond that way of thinking??
Think about it this way: Vin Diesel wears them, and he doesn't exactly fit the stereotype of gay, does he?
At the end of the day, whether or not they are gay depends on what stereotypes you adhere to. Speaking generally, if you're European, then leather pants are not gay - they're fashionable. If you live in Quebec, Canada, it could be either fashionable or a bit odd. If you live in a trailer park in the deep south, then leather pants are likely gayer than a 3 dollar bill. Like voting Obama perhaps.

how do I keep my rock chick look without looking unfashionable and unfeminine?
30 seconds to mars is my favorite band but I also like my chemical romance, fall out boy, paramore etc. I really like that kind of rock music and I tried to incorporate that into my wardrobe and make up but I kinda ended up looking goth: wearing a lot of black, really heavy black eyeliner on the inside and outside of the lid, those weird stripy fingerless gloves! anyway, I am also into fashion and like a slightly more feminine look but also I'm not really into things like floral dresses unless I incorporated witha leather jacket. so my question is, how can I show my rock chick sensibility in my wardrobe and make-up without being unfashionable and unfeminine. by the way, I'm 17.
by the way, I'm 5'8 with long brown hair, blue eyes and I'm very slim.
Rock out your style by doing one rock piece at a time.
For example: I have a pair a purple Tripp skinny jeans. When I wear those I wear them with a really simple black or white fitted tee, and a pair of girly-ish earrings.

In all honesty the fingerless gloves are a bit...unsettling to me. They are very rocker, but a bit too much to be wearing to school.
Heavy eyeliner is very unattractive. Tone it down a bit and let your blue eyes come through. Wearing it inside OR outside the lid is one things, but both is too much.
Don't overdo stuff. If you want to wear a crazy shirt pair it with a simple, regular pair of skinny jeans. If you want to wear insane jeans pair it with a simple top.
