Wallet Boston my heart says Northeastern, my wallet says UCONN..?
so my letters came back and i was accepted into both Northeastern University in Boston and University of CT..
You see, everything about Northeastern I love. The ppl are so cool, the campus is amazing, and i just absolutely felt at home when i went to the open house the other day. But it is pretty darm expensive.. somewhere around $35000 plus room and board.
On the other hand, I like UCONN, but its not the dream school like NEU is. i really think it is nice, but there was not the same spark, and not that same "at home" feeling. But the thing is i was fortunate to be accepted as an instate tution applicant becasue of my mom, even though i live in NY with my dad. So that is about $18000 altogether with room and board included.
so one is a steal, and smart economically, but the other is my dream school. i dont know what to do! i mean i live in an average income family, and this will definitly be a big expense if i go to NEU. Any help here?!?
NEU is no dream university. Half the students are commuters from the Boston suburbs and many of the buildings are quite utlitarian and cold. Not a lot of school spirit. UConn while not the greatest school academically at least has a lot of school spirit with their basketball team which is essentially a minor league sports franchise for the NBA. Their athletes are not really student athletes but they can play basketball.

What is the best way to teach a dog to stop chewing everything and barking too much?
-i have a 9 month old boston terrier -he chews and destroys my shoes, wallets, belts, pillows, etc. -he also barks a lot, what can i do or try to help him from stop barking? -should i pay for training ??? live in anaheim , california
pay for training. and in the meantime, make sure you do not leave any of your posessions lying around for the dog to chew on. for our dog who chews a lot we got her dog bones, one of my old basketball shoes and plenty of squeaky toys too. chewing in young dogs is natural. it will eventually grow out of it. but if you dont do something about it, it will probably be a few years before it does.
for the barking, a rattle-can may come in handy. its basically a tin can with small pebbles in, and when the dog barks you rattle it hard. if it still continues, chuck it at the dogs feet (not hitting it, just nearby). if that doesnt work (which it normally does) then i would reccommend.. - longer upbeat walks to tire it out - getting a bottle of water with a sports cap on so you shake it over the dog, and the water sprays out in small drips which will distract it.
