what would be a good car (4x4) to take up skiing and snowboarding?
i am 16 and buying a new car to take up to the mountain and ski and snowboard this year. although i am stuck with a small wallet of 4000$ and am trying to make it go its furthest. so i was wondering what kind of small suv's would be good? jeep wranglers are out of question. i have already scoured the earth for a good one. but anything else?
Of course theirs only one answer to this question. And the answer is TOYOTA, the only hard part is deciding which one . I would strongly recommend getting a year after 1991,unless its 22r 4 cyl. (Stay clear of the v6 3.0 motor.)This motor is in 89-91 4-runners and pick-ups 4x4's. I would go with either a 2x4, maintenance will be less therefor will cost less to maintain.If you do get an older truck take someone with you that has knowledge of vechiles( four-wheel drives).Remember cars sell 90% on their looks,So it may look good,but not run so good, nor maintained very well .GOOD LUCK!

Can you shackle lift a jeep without messing up anything?
I have a 92 Wrangler and i want to get an inch or two with very little money and very little trouble. I know there are ways that everyone prefers, but my wallet will not allow me to do it "right." Will i need to buy any other parts to keep my steering, brakes, or rear end straight and working within normal limits? Again i am looking into a shackle lift no more than 2".
