Bridle Leather
Is there a way to darken leather?
I have a really light oil Western Pleasure bridle and a darker, more chestnut/medium oil Western Pleasure saddle.
Obviously the bridle is fairly thin and covered in silver so there isn't a ton of leather that needs darkening. I want to do my reins and breast collar too.
Any suggestions?
I'd really love to avoid buying new tack!

Regular cleaning with saddle soap and oil will darken the leather nicely. Just slop it on, leave it for a while and then wipe the excess oil off and then soap. Once a month for the oiling will be sufficient after it has darkened.

can you ride with a leather bridle and reins in water?
I know water is bad for leather but is ee videos of people riding with their leather bridles if i cant ride with one then is there some kind of bridle i can use for riding in water
You canuse a leather bridle if you let it dry out completely afterward and the clean it with saddle soap and condition it.
Or, you can get a synthetic bridle like a Wintec and you don't have to worry about it.
