Is my Louis Vuitton Real? Helpp!? =)?
Hello! =D please help! i just got this "louis vuitton" today and my Grandmother purchased it (don't know where) and she has no clue of the world of purses. I've looked up how to distinguish real ones from fake..and I'm having trouble deciding. The thread is yellow..it feels like genuine leather and its sturdy, not flimsy. and on the outside on a flap on the side it says:

and it is engraved..it also says this on the inside zipper pocket..
and the gold buttons are engraved ●Louis Vuitton

Louis Vuitton always puts a serial number inside the purse. Usually it is made of a little piece of leather, with a number stamped on it. It is usually on the inside pocket. Look on the inside of the purse to see if it has a little leather tab with a number stamped on it.The buttons do spell out Louis Vuitton, and the color of the handles if it is a used bag will be darker then it was when it was new. If you put leather conditioner on the leather it makes it look darker and so does aging. The real way is the serial number inside the purse. If it doesnt have it then it is a fake. Hope this helps.

Do I have an authentic Gucci Purse?
I have an older, vintage Gucci purse. I don't know anything about the purse, but the workmanship is excellent (stitching, zipper, genuine leather). I don't know when Gucci started using serial numbers, but this purse does not have one. The zipper pull is stamped Gucci (YKK zipper). How can I authenticate this purse? I would like to sell it, but I don't want to mislead anyone.
There is no telling, when I bought my Gucci years ago from a Gucci store they did not have serial numbers in them, and this was in 1987....here are some links below that should help you discover the "truth" behind your bag!
