what do i do, say??? police involved!!?
ot my license two weeks ago. today becuase the sub snow was done i slipped while driving and knocked down a yeild sign...not knowing what to do i left and was gonna wait for my mother to come home to tell her. while i was at a friends house a cop showed up and looked at my car and said someone called and said your son hit a yeild sign. i got a ticket for leaving the scene i live in michigan. what do i do. this happened around 330 in the day. the snowed still wasnt plowed. do i have something against the city? im gonna go to court. what should i say. please help me it is very much appreciated. thank you. sorry i know this is not mens health but i really want this answered
You screwed up, big time. It's understandable that you slipped because of the snow, and also that you got scared and weren't sure how to handle it, but you made the wrong choice. You should've stayed there until police arrived, explained the situation and taken your ticket, rather than doing what probably appeared to them as attempting to "escape" undetected.
Going to court is a good idea, but when you get there your attitude should be one of humility and remorse. Explain what happened, tell them that the snowy conditions caught you off guard and that afterwards you were just scared because you're a very new driver and didn't know what to do. Tell them that you know now that leaving the scene was absolutely the wrong thing to do, and that you'll do your best to make sure nothing like this happens again.
If you convince the judge you're sorry, he MAY reduce your penalty to just a fine with no points on your driving record (which should be your goal). But if you go in there acting cocky and blaming the city, etc., they're going to rule against you. So take my advice and be humble and polite. Wear a suit and tie to the court hearing, keep your head down and refer to the judge as "Sir" or "Your Honor" every time he asks you a question.
Tell them that if something like this happens again, you will make sure YOU are the one to call the police and inform them of what happened, and ask if there's anything you can do to make it right.

Jump kick knockdown in karate competition
Throwing of glove to stop ball?
We were playing in a mens softball game last night and our batter hit the ball over the third basemens head by about three feet. Now as the ball was coming through the infield, the third basemen had desided to throw his glove into the air trying to knock down the ball.
He was unsuccesful and his glove never touched the ball.
I looked at this as unsportsmen and felt he should have been awarded another base.

if he missed the ball, it's no big deal, nothing wrong , no foul. But if his thrown glove would have hit the ball, the batter is awarded 3 bases
