Has anyone heard of this email scam?
I recieved an email with an email address from someone I know. It was from: that person, addressed to that person's email address but came to me. In the subject column it said EMERGANCY. When I went into it, it said something about (While I was away from the hotel I lost my wallet and passport. Please send $2000 so I can get home. I will pay you back then. I have no phone to be contacted) Well, obviously I called the person whom it was suppose to be from knowing it wasn't really from them. I told them I forwarded it to them to look at. When they tried to get into their mail it said there was a 24hr security hold on it! I guess I have two questions:
1. How did someone send an email that was addressed from and to the same person, didn't even have my address on it and it ended up coming to me?
2. Has anyone had this happen or heard of this happening and how did you fix it?

It is a trick that the spammers use to get you to open their mail. It is a scam to get your personal information and/or money.
Do not respond to it.
Report it, forward it to the FTC at spam@uce.gov and to the abuse desk of the sender's ISP.

Choose Fraud as the reason for the violation you're reporting on.
Also, if the E-mail appears to be impersonating a bank or other company or organization, forward the message to the actual organization.
And for your E-mail safety, remember:
Do not ever open E-mail from people you do not know; and unless you are absolutely sure who it is from then treat them as spam.
Opening spam alerts the sender that your address is a valid one and they send you loads and loads more of it to you.
Never, ever give out your personal information to anyone, for any reason, whether by E-mail, snail mail, phone call, or at your front door.
And do not ever send money, checks or money orders to; or cash checks, money orders for any one - ever.

What should I do if my wallet with my ID was stolen while in Mexico?
Well I´ve been here in Mexico for awhile and just the other day my wallet was pick pocketed from me. Rofl Anyways I was wondering if they´re going to ask me for my ID when going back? I´ll be flying. Also I have my Passport, Social Security Card, and Birth Certificate. Will I be allowed to pass without problems? Please help. Thanks
Your passport is the only thing you need to fly internationally. when you went to Mexico, they did not ask to see your driver's license, , social security card,, credit cards,, birth certificate did they? All they ever want to see is your passport.
