Photography Equipment Setup!?
I am considering going into the photography business for myself to make some extra money.
I am considering buying The Alien Bees B400 Flash Unit with 48 inch white umbrella. I want two but they are very expensive.
The type of pictures I want to take are of people or children in front of a backdrop either up close or full body in the comfort of my home or theirs.
Can I take good quality pictures with ONLY ONE B400 flash unit if I were to use a REFLECTOR on the other side of the subject to make up for lost light? Or is it necessary to have two flash units?
Where is the best place to have pictures professionally printed? (wallets, 5X7s and so forth) Thanks.
I would recommend biting the bullet and getting the two lights, you need at least one to light your backdrop, and one to light your subject. A reflector will help with fill, but don't expect miracles, it won't replace a B400. Shooting outside the studio, you can work with just one light, since you have the sun to replace your main light, or fill. Even so, having that extra light gives you so much more flexibility.
I Prefer to print my own photos, Epson makes some very high quality printers. If you can't afford one, then I would have them printed at a photo lab, but that will create a lot of unnecessary overhead.

-tiny pocket knife, could for trimming nails and filing nails and it has a mini tweezer (i don't carry my pocket knife to school - its against the rules)
-bobby bins
-cell
-jacket if im not wearing one and think i might need it
-tissue
any necessities you think i'm missing?

- moisturizers, a paper back book for when you are stuck and reading will help pass the time, dental floss picks, aspirin are all in mine also.
