What is the average collective value of the possessions of a city commuter?
This may include your wallet, phone, MP3 player, laptop, whatever you may have on you as a City commuter.
no I'm not a pickpocketer, I'm doing a project on losing things (and preventing it) and I wanted to know what is at stake when you do. Not just the money value as some things are irreplaceable, like a wallet given to you by a girlfriend. but i wanted to know the value of things that an average person may have on them
depends on how much your train season ticket costs. Annual season tickets on my line to London cost £3500 and I've heard further up the line they're paying £6000. The tickets are only replaced at the discretion of the train company (1 or 2 times) and at a cost. The rest depends on what kind of mobile or laptop you have etc. I reckon on a really bad day with an annual season ticket, a pickpocket's spending spree on a credit card with £3000 credit, a laptop, MP3, mobile broadband dongle, phone, books, bag, wallet/ purse, portable DVD player, makeup - somebody could potentially get away with about £8,000 worth of stuff if they stole a bag. Blimey that's scary!

world's thinest MP3 Card player
The Best MP3 Player For Me?
I'm looking for the best MP3 player that has enough space to
handle MP3 songs as well as video. Something that isn't too bulky
and heavy like some I have seen before. Lightweight would be nice
also isn't going to break the wallet but it's not going to go out on me in
a months time ha ha I don't need 100 features though and it doesn't need to play 500+ songs cause I'm not really going to listen to that much music realistically just want enough for video space.
What you're looking for actually really narrows things down. It seems like the 5th gen iPod is for you (i.e. the video iPod Classic). It plays video and audio. You can get one with 30gb, and I've seen some as low as about $140 (online), mainly because it's an old player. It's one of the thinnest players, and, unlike the links provided by Matthew, it shouldn't stop working in less than a year. However, iPods do tend to have their own quirky issues (but it seems pretty much all mp3 players do; iPods just seem to have more than others). For your criteria, though, you basically have no choice but to put up with it, unless you can stand the extra weight a Zune will bring. I'm not sure one of those 5th gens comes in less than 30gb (because, from what you're saying, you don't need 30GB and DEFINITELY not 120GB), but for the price and what you're looking for, if you can find one that costs about $150...it's not that bad.
