How to train a great white shark?
Would it be possible to train a great white shark to peform the same tricks that killer whales and dolphins do at Seaworld?
Let's say its a very intelligent shark, and they train it from it's birth to adulthood.
"There is some evidence, – or at least some indications of the possibility – that white sharks are capable of learning, that they are not driven solely by robotic instinct. “Obviously there's no observed experimental behavior,” said Jeffrey Graham, a marine biologist and shark expert at Scripps Institution of Oceanography. “White sharks are too big, too strong, too wild to be kept long in captivity and studied. But research with other sharks shows they can be trained. Sharks can discriminate colors and visual patterns. They do respond to stimulus reward-type training.”
To be sure, white sharks do not possess any recognizable cognitive ability similar to that of humans. A white shark's brain, said Graham, is almost entirely devoted to serving its powerful arsenal of senses. "
Is it really fair to keep such a big shark in an enclosure. I remember watching a show about great white sharks. One was caught and put in a circular enclosure. However, great white sharks are extremely sensitive to electromagnetic fields, and what happened with this shark is that arcing occurred in the enclosure. This caused the shark to be in extreme discomfort when it came to a certain part of the enclosure when swimming. So much so that the scientists who caught the fish said it had to be released.

What is heavier a 16 foot saltwater crocodile or a 14 foot great white shark?
A heathly saltwater crocodile-male
A healthy great white shark-female
i was thinking because many people think a 16 foot saltwater crocodile only weighs about 1000 pounds. But i and some other people like the crocodile hunter thinks it is not true. He said a 16 foot saltwater weighs about 2000 pounds or more. What do u think. because the saltwater crocodile looks much heavier than that.
And can u tell me by how much?
