Do I have a chance of getting into Medical School?

GCSEs - 4 A*s, 5 As
AS grades - A in biology, B in physics, C in chemistry (and an A in french, but I'm dropping it at A2)
A level predictions - AAB
I know the grades aren't great but I also;
Have volunteered at an old peoples home and at a drama group for disabled kids
Have work experience lined up at a hospital
Sing in 2 choirs
Have a Gold LAMDA acting award
Have a brown belt in karate
Have completed the Gold D of E award
..... and I'm desperate to become a doctor!

I don't care where I go! Just as long as I get in first time since money is tight at the moment and I really don't want to have to apply as a graduate (but will do if I have to).

Finally, I haven't got my UKCAT results back, but I'll probably get an average result if I'm going to be honest...

Must respectfully disagree with Ellie. Most universities do not specify maths as a requirement. Some even dislike it when too much emphasis is placed on it (eg further maths at A2). Your subject choices are correct (the same as mine and I am looking to go into medical school ) If you do get AAB, you will meet the minimum requirements for many universities and your extra-curricular things are excellent. Provided you achieve your expected grades, conduct yourself well at interview and get a good result for your UKCAT, you should get in, although I will say that your AS results weren't really enough. Hopefully if you improve on them at A2, you'll still have a chance.

Your school/ college probably has a careers adviser. You should go and see him/her for more information, as they are the best person to talk to.
