University of Florida Housing?
A bunch of my friends and I were recently accepted to UF. We need to fill out our housing application, and my friend and I want to room together. We were thinking about asking for Beaty and Broward, as they are both popular freshman dorms (plus Beaty is apartment style), but are having a hard time deciding on the third. We are considering Jennings, Rawlings and Springs. I heard Springs is filled with jocks and that they can be problematic, but other than that, I have no idea.
What I want to know is: Which of these is closest to the gym/sports complex (I like to work out)?
Which (any residence hall) would you suggest for incoming freshmen?
And which of the three listed above would you recommend?
Beaty is one of the best dorms but I would pick Lakeside instead of Broward. Lakeside, although a bit isolated, is right next to the Southwest Recreational Center (great if you like to work out). For the third one I would pick Springs.
Personally, I prefer off-campus housing. Spend your first semester or perhaps year on campus if you like but I recommend you move out eventually. There are many apartment buildings that are only a couple of blocks from campus and offer much better living conditions for lower prices.
