DS Lite stylus slides out?

This problem's been recurring for quite some time now, and I've had enough of it. Upon further inspection, I still can't determine if it's because the little ridge is dulled down or if the slot it fits into is blocked.

In any case, I'm curious as to whether there is some way to construct something that would prevent it from sliding out. I was thinking maybe putting some sticky putty into the slot, or maybe a velcro patch on the back of it with another strip wrapped around the stylus, or something.

Any ideas?

wrap sticky tape around the thick end of the stylus several times, this will make it thicker n it shouldnt slide out.....
