My low mileage (46K) Jaguar V12 suddenly stopped changing up from 1st gear (it's an automatic - I think a GM300 box as used in Cadilacs of the time). Can anyone suggest why this might be? athe auto-transmission fluid level is fine. I'm very worried about it as the car is much bigger than my wallet, if you know what I mean !
I'm not sure if it could be related but it stopped changing gear after I opened the bonet and flexed a rubber bellows thing at the top of the engine, and also manually clicked a micro-switch which is attached to the throttle cable, again at the top of the engine. Slapped wrist for tampering!

It should have a three speed automatic TH 400 I would say the vaccuum modulator hose came off it. this would keep it from shifting, check engine side and/or transmission modulator.
I originally bought a couple of these for traveling. It is nice to be able to just carry a little cash, my dl and a card or two during car trips. It beats lugging out my purse each time we stop to eat or get gas or shop.
